Alfa Romeo’s rich history dates back to 1910, built on many emblematic and even legendary vehicles, including race cars that transformed the world of motorsport. Alfa Romeo’s mechanical ingenuity lives on in modern vehicles that deliver remarkable performance you can enjoy every day. For collectors, here are four iconic classic Alfa Romeo models to consider.
Alfa Romeo Spider
The Alfa Romeo Spider is an exceptional roadster produced from 1966 to 1993. As one of the great Italian classics, its sporty convertible silhouette has seen very few styling changes over three decades of production. It was built in four series: osso di sepia, codatronca, aerodinamica and the series 4.
It owes much of its popularity to its starring role in the film The Graduate (1967). It remains an excellent collector car today, since well-maintained examples tend to increase in value year after year.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was also produced in several phases. During the first phase, from 1954 to 1964, it was offered as a compact model with many body choices: Giulietta Sprint, Giulietta Berlina, Giulietta Spider (convertible and forerunner to the Alfa Romeo Spider), Giulietta Sprint Zagato (or Giulietta SZ) and Giulietta Sprint Speciale (or Giulietta SS).
In its second phase, from 1977 to 1985, it was produced as a family sedan. The most recent Giulietta is the sporty compact sedan many know today, produced from 2010 to 2020.
Alfa Romeo 4C
The Alfa Romeo 4C (type 960) appeared as a concept in 2011 at the Geneva Auto Show, then as a production model from 2013 to 2020. At first it was offered only as a 2-door coupe. In 2015, a 2-door roadster joined the lineup.
From its debut, Hagerty’s collectible-car experts recognized its full potential. It was ranked number 1 out of 10, on their “Hot list of future collectible cars”, for vehicles most likely to become prized collector cars over the next 25 years. There is still time to get your hands on a pre-owned Alfa Romeo 4C in excellent condition.
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
If you are passionate about exceptional cars, you probably already know that the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is set to return in 2026, with only 33 copies available worldwide and a recorded production cost listed between 2.1 million and 2.6 million (USD). All units were sold long before production began, since this is a handcrafted production custom-created for its future owner. Each vehicle is unique, which means it is already considered a collector’s model even before completion, and it will only gain value over the years.
As for the original model, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale produced from 1967 to 1969, it now ranks among the rarest and most expensive collectible cars. Its value is generally estimated at one or even several tens of millions USD.
